Great Kiskadee
Birds of South Texas
South Texas, and specifically the Rio Grande Valley, is home to many specialty species, some of which are found nowhere else in the country. I went to the area at the end of 2021 to see the celebrated Bat Falcon, (first recorded sighting in the U.S.), and the Social Flycatcher, also a Mexican rarity. But along the way I also captured a number of South Texas regulars on a great day with good light and weather conditions. This gallery will continue to grow as I love the area and plan to go back soon.
