American Oystercatcher, Texas City Dike
Birds of the Texas Coast
The Texas Coast is one of my favorite destinations, not only for birding but for its history and other attractions. There are many birding locations up and down the coast, with a considerable number of beach-side and lagoon-side locations which are great havens for shorebirds, gulls and other birds. This is a cross-section of birds I have encountered along the coast these past few years. Locations include High Island, Galveston, South Padre Island, and Port Aransas.
